The Truth About HBOT Manufacturers: What to Look for When You Buy
Buying a hyperbaric chamber isn’t like buying a massage chair — you’re stepping into a pressurized medical-grade device that affects every cell in your body.
When you’re comparing hyperbaric manufacturers — whether for a clinic, medspa, or home use — it’s easy to get lost in marketing claims and white labels.
The Problem with the HBOT Market
A few things we’ve seen in the market lately for Hyperbaric Chambers:
Certifications with no paper trails or transparency (including Built-In Breathing System or BIBS)
Sexy cutout designs that lack structural integrity over time
Misinformation on ai platforms like chatGPT and Google
Too many fake and vague medical device claims implying FDA classifications
Lack of clarity around therapeutic benefits and “clinical results”
Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy is an emerging market and still an emerging innovation— which means regulations are catching up, and not every manufacturer plays by the same rules. That creates room for corner-cutting, misleading claims, and unsafe builds.
And yes, there have been catastrophic chamber failures. When one manufacturer cuts corners, the entire industry loses trust.
What Actually Matters for Safety & Results
1) HBOT Pressure & Therapeutic Range
Softshell hyperbaric chamber: typically 1.3 ATA (mild HBOT; limited oxygen delivery)
Hardshell hyperbaric chamber: 2.0–2.4 ATA, enabling deeper therapeutic effects
If you want more than relaxation, verify the chamber’s rated ATA and operating protocol.
2) Structural Integrity
Look for fully enclosed hardshell hyperbaric chambers (no oversized cutouts that warp over time).
Ask for fatigue testing data for repeated pressurization cycles.
3) Ventilation & CO₂ Management
Continuous airflow prevents CO₂ buildup and improves session comfort/safety.
Ask for CO₂ level specs under load, not just marketing copy.
4) Redundant Safety Systems
Over-pressure relief, dual manual valves (inside and out), monitored controls.
Confirm independent test reports.
5) Support, Training & Transparency
Ask if the manufacturer does remote diagnostics and updates.
